Apple set to release iOS 5.0.2 next week

An Apple engineer quoted by a German Mac-centric blog says iOS 5.0.2 is on its way to iCustomers next week, with iOS 5.1 following soon thereafter with a few tweaks aimed to make Siri smarter.


Apple may reportedly release another iOS 5 update as early as next week to fix the battery issue for good and further improvements to its Siri voice-controlled assistant app are also in the works.
According to German site, MackerKopf.de, an iOS 5.0.2 update is already on its way, while work is also underway for the first major iOS 5 upgrade, which should come as version 5.1 on the market.

The 5.0.2 patch is designed to provide iPhone 4S users 40 hours of standby time and 10 hours of active use time and the next major upgrade (iOS 5.1) should introduce a raft of new features for Siri.  
The features reportedly include include, the use of voice commands to activate functions like taking photos, recording videos, enabling and disabling Bluetooth, or turning on and off WiFi.
The iOS 5.1 upgrade is not expected  to hit the streets until the end of 2011.
